Wednesday: Neighborhood Trees
DAILY BLOG
My post content
Most neighborhoods have a tree everyone recognizes.
Maybe it's the giant oak at the corner.
The maple that turns bright red every fall.
The tree that's been there longer than most of the houses around it.
We pass by without giving it much thought.
Day after day.
Year after year.
Yet the tree is always changing.
New leaves arrive.
Branches grow.
Seasons come and go.
Storms leave their mark.
The tree looks familiar, but it never looks exactly the same.
People are a lot like that.
We often think of our lives as one continuous story.
But when we look back, we can see the different seasons.
There were years of growth.
Years of uncertainty.
Years of change.
Years that felt like winter.
Each season shaped who we became.
The interesting thing is that trees don't fight the seasons.
They don't try to hold onto autumn leaves forever.
They don't rush spring.
They simply adapt.
Maybe there's a lesson in that.
Life changes whether we're ready or not.
The challenge isn't avoiding change.
It's learning how to grow through it.
A neighborhood tree understands that better than most of us do.
It stands where it is and keeps growing anyway.
Something to think about: Looking back, which season of your life changed you the most?
