Tuesday: Waiting for Water to Boil
DAILY BLOG
My post content
Watching water boil is one of the slowest activities on earth.
At least it feels that way.
You turn on the stove.
You set the pot down.
Then you wait.
And wait.
Nothing seems to happen.
The water sits there looking exactly the same as it did a minute ago.
But underneath the surface, change is taking place.
Little by little, the temperature rises.
Progress is happening even when it isn't visible.
Life often feels like that.
We work toward goals.
We build relationships.
We develop new skills.
We try to improve ourselves.
Yet most of the time, the change is difficult to see.
We want immediate results.
Immediate answers.
Immediate success.
But many worthwhile things operate on a slower schedule.
Trust takes time.
Experience takes time.
Healing takes time.
Growth takes time.
No amount of impatience speeds them up.
The challenge is learning how to stay committed when visible progress hasn't arrived yet.
That's easier said than done.
We live in a world that rewards speed.
Yet some of life's most important developments happen gradually.
Almost quietly.
Like water beginning to boil.
Nothing seems different until suddenly everything is.
Something to think about: What is something in your life that may be improving even though you can't fully see the results yet?
