The Dreamer

DAILY BLOG

If there is one thing I've never wanted to lose, it's the ability to dream. No matter where life has taken me, I've always found myself imagining what could be instead of only accepting what already is. I don't think dreaming is about escaping reality. If anything, I believe dreaming gives reality something to grow toward. Long before a goal is ever accomplished, it first exists as a thought, an idea, or a quiet vision that only one person can see.

I've spent a good portion of my life dreaming. Some dreams were small, while others were much larger than anything I could accomplish at the time. I dreamed of becoming a published author. I dreamed of writing songs that others could enjoy. I dreamed of creating businesses that could one day help people. Even these daily blogs began as nothing more than an idea that slowly grew into something I now look forward to sharing each day. Looking back, I realize that every meaningful accomplishment in my life first started as a dream.

I think that's what makes dreamers so unique. They often see possibilities where others only see limitations. While someone else may look at a difficult situation and believe nothing can change, the dreamer quietly asks, "What if it could?" That question has always fascinated me because it leaves room for hope. It reminds us that today's circumstances don't always determine tomorrow's outcome.

At the same time, I've learned that dreaming alone isn't enough. There have been moments when I had ideas that stayed in my notebook far longer than they should have. Not because they weren't good ideas, but because I questioned whether the timing was right or whether I was truly ready. I think many of us have experienced that feeling. We become excited about what could happen, but we hesitate because we don't yet know how everything will come together.

Life has slowly taught me that dreams rarely arrive with complete instructions. They usually begin with one small step followed by another. The path becomes clearer as we continue moving forward. Had I waited until I had every answer before writing my first book or publishing my first blog, I probably would still be waiting today. Instead, I learned that progress often reveals what planning alone never could.

I've also come to appreciate the dreamers I've met throughout my life. They're the people who speak with excitement about tomorrow. They're willing to imagine possibilities that others may not understand yet. Sometimes they're misunderstood because their vision reaches beyond what everyone else can currently see. Yet history has shown us that many of the greatest ideas once sounded unrealistic until someone decided to believe in them anyway.

Of course, dreaming doesn't remove the challenges of life. There are disappointments, setbacks, and moments when doubt quietly finds its way into our thoughts. I've had those moments too. There have been times when I questioned whether something I hoped for would ever become reality. Looking back now, I'm grateful I didn't allow those moments to become permanent. They reminded me that dreams require patience just as much as they require passion.

Today, I still dream. In fact, I hope I never stop. There are still books I want to write, ideas I want to explore, businesses I hope to build, and people I hope to encourage along the way. Some of those dreams may change over time, while others may grow into something even greater than I currently imagine. Either way, I've learned that dreaming keeps a part of us alive. It reminds us that we are still becoming.

If you're someone who has quietly placed a dream on the shelf because life became busy or because someone convinced you it wasn't possible, let me encourage you to dust it off and look at it again. It may not happen tomorrow, and it may not happen exactly the way you first imagined, but every worthwhile journey begins with believing there's something worth pursuing.

As for me, I'll continue dreaming. Not because every dream is guaranteed to come true, but because every meaningful chapter of my life has started with one. And if tomorrow holds another dream worth chasing, I hope I'll have the courage to take that very first step once again.

Looking forward to tomorrow.
