One More Day

One more day.

That's what came to mind today.

Tomorrow is the day many people have been looking forward to.

Fireworks Day.

Well, I should probably say the Fourth of July.

Either way, it marks another opportunity to gather with family, spend time with friends, and enjoy the holiday weekend.

Earlier today, one of my siblings told me they were heading to the river.

Oh my gosh...

I've never been.

Not to go tubing, anyway.

They were talking about floating down the river, enjoying the water, and simply making a day of it.

I have to admit, it sounded like fun.

Could I see myself doing that?

Absolutely.

Maybe one day.

This year, though, my plans look a little different.

I'll be spending time with family instead.

And if family is coming over, I think we all know what that usually means.

I have to cook.

Well... cook for them, of course.

As for me, things are a little different right now.

I'm currently doing one of my detoxes.

It's something I try to do at least three times a year.

I've found that it gives my body an opportunity to reset.

A chance to slow things down.

To rest.

To heal.

To clear away some of the things that naturally build up over time.

I always enjoy how I feel afterward.

More energy.

Clearer skin.

A lighter feeling overall.

It's become one of those routines that I genuinely look forward to.

So while everyone else may be enjoying all the holiday treats, I'll probably be putting together something that fits right in with where I am on my wellness journey.

And honestly...

I'm perfectly okay with that.

Before all the cooking begins, I may stop by the local farmers market on Saturday morning.

There's something I enjoy about walking through fresh produce, seeing what's in season, and deciding what I'll prepare for the day.

Sometimes the simplest plans turn into the most enjoyable ones.

Fresh food.

Good conversation.

Family.

A little laughter.

That's more than enough for me.

As I wrap up today's thoughts, I realize tomorrow will mean something different for everyone.

Some will travel.

Some will host family.

Some will watch fireworks.

Some will simply enjoy having a day away from work.

Whatever your plans may be, I hope you make the most of them.

Take time to relax.

Take time to laugh.

Take time to appreciate the people around you.

Moments like these have a way of becoming memories before we even realize it.

So as Friday comes to an end, I simply want to wish you a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.

Be safe.

Be joyful.

Enjoy the food, the conversations, and the time together.

And if you're celebrating the Fourth of July, I hope it's one filled with smiles, gratitude, and wonderful memories.

Until tomorrow...

Enjoy your Fourth of July.
