Likeable.

Now there's a word I don't think we use often enough.

Before I go any further, did I happen to mention that I really like the number seven?

I hope I did.

Seven.

Seventeen.

Seventy-seven.

Well...

I'm certainly not seventy-seven just yet.

But I have definitely been seven.

And I've most certainly been seventeen.

Funny how numbers can bring back little memories.

The more I thought about today's title, the more I realized just how many things in life are simply...

Likeable.

Let's start with the obvious.

Who doesn't enjoy a good feeling?

You wake up in a great mood.

The weather is nice.

Life feels a little lighter.

That's definitely likeable.

How about payday?

Now we're talking.

Seeing that deposit hit your account has a way of making the day feel just a little brighter.

Very likeable.

Or imagine finding money you forgot you had.

Maybe in an old jacket pocket.

Maybe tucked inside a book.

Maybe hidden in a drawer.

Now that's a pleasant surprise.

Extremely likeable.

Then there are the experiences.

Going on a trip.

Taking a vacation.

Exploring somewhere you've never been before.

Creating memories that you'll smile about later.

Absolutely likeable.

How about being treated with kindness and respect?

Those two things never go out of style.

A kind word.

A thoughtful gesture.

Someone simply making your day a little easier.

I'd say that's one of the most likeable things there is.

And then...

There's liking someone.

You know...

That person who walks into the room and somehow makes time slow down just a little.

The one who makes you smile without even trying.

The one who leaves you wondering why your heart suddenly decided to beat a little faster.

I'd say that's pretty likeable too.

Having free will?

Very likeable.

Watching things work out in your favor?

Even better.

Going through a stretch where nothing seems to go wrong?

Now that's what I call top-of-the-list likeable.

How about your favorite meal?

The one you've been craving all week.

The first bite lets you know it was worth the wait.

High-five likeable.

Or finally getting those sneakers you've had your eye on.

The pair everyone keeps asking about.

The ones that make you smile every time you put them on.

Definitely likeable.

The more I think about it, the more I realize life gives us little moments like these all the time.

Sometimes we notice them.

Sometimes we don't.

But they're there.

Waiting for us to appreciate them.

Maybe today's reflection isn't about finding something extraordinary.

Maybe it's simply about noticing all the ordinary things that make life enjoyable.

Those little moments have a way of adding up.

One smile.

One laugh.

One compliment.

One good conversation.

One unexpected blessing.

Before you know it, you've had a pretty good day.

So today, I encourage you to find your own list of likeable things.

Maybe it's your morning coffee.

Maybe it's hearing from a friend.

Maybe it's spending time with family.

Maybe it's simply having a quiet moment to yourself.

Whatever it is...

Enjoy it.

Life gives us enough reasons to worry.

Let's make sure we notice the reasons to smile too.

Well...

I'd better get moving.

I have places to go.

Things to do.

And people to see.

Have a very likeable day.

Do as many likeable things as you possibly can.

And until tomorrow...
